Before the Field Trip

Monthly Meeting: Wednesday, August 20, 2025, 20:00 CET

About our Monthly Status Meeting

Our team will hold a monthly online meeting. The purpose of these meetings varies; some will follow a specific agenda, while others will serve as an open forum for planning and collaborative work for the upcoming month.

All team members and interested parties are welcome to attend. Please feel free to invite others who may benefit from joining.

Please note that meetings may be recorded and subsequently posted on our YouTube channel for transparency and those unable to attend live.

What will be discussed this time:

Some reminders before the Field Trip:

👉 Visit hessdalen.org/field-trips and click on Field Trip 2025 for details.
If you’re joining, don’t forget to sign up for the activities you want to take part in.

⚠️ Please note: the Work Plan page is not yet complete!
We will need volunteers during the week—for example:

  • Deploying sensors in the field (and retrieving them at the end of the trip).

  • Forming observation teams at different locations, equipped with cameras and ready to report sightings to other teams.

  • Coordinating reports: nothing is better than multiple witnesses, and if we can manage triangulation, that would be fantastic!

We will also practice identifying everyday phenomena such as airplanes, car lights, and flashlights. Balloons may even be used to train on estimating distance, size, and movement.

📷 For those attending in person:
Bring your camera, a tripod, and any additional equipment you have (night vision goggles, EM sensors, IR cameras, etc.).

🌍 For those who cannot make the trip:
Follow updates and live streams at discord.hessdalen.org during the event.

💬 Monthly Meeting
Everyone is welcome to join our monthly meeting on

📑 Current Activities
If you haven’t already, check out hessdalen.org/current-activities.
You’ll find two videos demonstrating how stacked images capture movement beautifully. Since the videos are made from the stacked images, we can verify exactly what the cameras recorded.

Note: stacked images are only available the next day (provided the Blue Box has internet connectivity).
We are also working on a real-time trigger mechanism. If you have programming skills and would like to contribute—please get in touch!
